The aim of this policy is to ensure that students will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the school’s IT infrastructure.
Admissions Policy
This Admission Policy complies with the requirements of the Education Act 1998, the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018 and the Equal Status Act 2000..
Anti-Bullying Policy
In accordance with the requirements of the Education (Welfare) Act 2000 and the code of behaviour guidelines issued by the NEWB, the Board of Management of Coláiste Muire school has adopted the following anti-bullying policy within the framework of the school’s overall code of behaviour.
Child Protection Policy
In accordance with the requirements of the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017, the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools 2017 and Tusla Guidance on the preparation of Child Safeguarding Statements, the Board of Management of Colaiste Muire has agreed the Child Safeguarding Statement set out in this document.
Code of Behaviour
Our aim is to create an atmosphere of positive co-operation where teachers, students and
parents can work together to achieve success. Our Child Protection Policy strives to acknowledge the right of each student to education in a positive learning environment. It aims to promote the
values of fairness, mutual respect, consideration, courtesy and tolerance of others; to
foster commitment to work and learning; to cultivate respect for the school environment,
and to reward and reinforce positive behaviour.
Complaints Procedure
Procedures are necessary to ensure fair treatment for all in the school and acceptable
procedures should be known, agreed, and observed in the interest of good industrial
relations and harmony in the school environment. Periodic review of all procedures should
take place to ensure practices are good and adhere to any developments in employment
legislation or other legislation or case law.

Data Protection Policy
Colaiste Muire, Ennis is a data controller of Personal Data relating to its past, present
and future employees, students, parents, members of board of management and various
other individuals. As such, Colaiste Muire, Ennisis obliged to comply with the
principles of data protection set out in the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003.
Junior Cycle Book Scheme & Stationary Policy
Objective: This policy aims to outline the roll out of the Junior Cycle Book Scheme and the provision of stationery packs by Coláiste Muire, ensuring the proper care of school property and addressing responsibilities in cases of loss or damage.
Intimate Care Needs Policy
In tandem with the spirit of the school’s mission statement all students with
intimate care needs will be treated with respect and their right to privacy
upheld and actively promoted. To this end Colaiste Muire strives to maintain
standards, develop a supportive professional environment and promote positive
attitudes and behaviours based on student-centred care.
Pastoral Care Policy
Colaiste Muire is committed to developing a dynamic Christian school community which fosters spiritual and personal development. We are a voluntary Catholic school. Our distinctive Mercy ethos attempts to generate within the school a community climate that is permeated by the gospel values of freedom, love, mercy and justice.
Special Educational Needs Policy
This policy was formulated in consultation with the teaching staff and management of Coláiste
Muire, parents of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), the Board of Management
(BOM), Special Needs Assistants (SNA’s), the National Educational Psychological Service
(NEPS), and the Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO).
