Burren OETC

The Burren Outdoor Education and Training Centre is located in the heart of the Burren and only a few minutes from the Wild Atlantic Way. They provide high quality outdoor and adventure activities. Burren OETC is run under the aegis of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board and is approved by the Department of Education and Skills.

Their programmes and activities provide rich, memorable and enjoyable outdoor experiences to a variety of learning outcomes. These include developing an active and healthy lifestyle, developing an interest in nature and the outdoors and developing an awareness and understanding of well-being and teamwork.

An Outdoor Education Day in Co. Clare was a new addition to our TY calendar in 2020/21. It received very favourable reports from our TY students and teachers. We scheduled a day for each of our TY 2021/22 classes at the beginning of this academic year. It is our intention to include such a visit in our TY calendar moving forward. This will be in addition to a residential Outdoor Education programme elsewhere in the country.
